Introducing a New Product Collaboration
OuiSi has collaborated with Getty, a global arts organization, to create a Photo Card game and activity set that celebrates the artwork of the J. Paul Getty Museum. The Getty retail team requested a Getty-based OuiSi set after the museum store kept selling out of the original OuiSi game. Getty x OuiSi is a completely new way of engaging with a museum from home, the classroom or in person.
Unique Visual Connections between Photo Cards
The OuiSi team researched Getty's vast photo database of artwork to select 210 images with specific artistic elements, like the vibrant green stripes in Van Gogh’s Irises painting. The images were also chosen to highlight the repetition of basic elements found in art. When two Getty x OuiSi Photo Cards share similar patterns, shapes or colors, they create a “Visual Connection.”
These Visual Connections are the basis of the collaborative games and activities found in the accompanying Getty x OuiSi Guidebook. Details about each artwork can be explored further at www.getty.edu by scanning a QR code on the back of each Photo Card.
The Getty Museum Experience
A handful of the Getty x OuiSi Photo Cards also capture artistic elements of the Getty Center and Getty Villa campuses so that visiting players can make Visual Connections between the art world and the real world. Thomas Stewart, Head of Merchandise Development & Retail Operations at Getty, said, "Our Getty x OuiSi collaboration provides a joyful and informative way to explore our world-class collection remotely or in person. It’s a first for both Getty and OuiSi."
