ABOUT THE PHOTOS
All photography is original and mostly taken in New York City. The photos capture small marvels found every day, from a crushed pop can to a sidewalk puddle. Each Photo Card is an invitation to set down your tech gadgets and notice your own marvelous, everyday world.
The name of this inventive set of Photo Cards is “yes-yes” in French and Spanish/Italian, pronounced “we-see” in English. Fun, isn’t it? It’s a nod to our belief that pictures are a global language almost all of us speak.

Our family wasn’t graced with the competitive gene so this game is a great fit. Our grandchildren and we play often. Another positive is that it gets me sitting on the floor again!

I bought this for my Dad's 91st birthday. We all had fun, but it took him a while to figure out the rules( as in there are not many rules ,Dad ). We all had fun explaining how we connected our new picture to the one(s) on the table. "This game is stretching my brain ".
I like to draw a random card and then recreate it with watercolor or colored pencil.
My father, who is experiencing cognitive decline, enjoyed this game more than he’s enjoyed anything in the past few years. He was engaged and excited to find the links between the pictures. He was watching everyone’s move with interest and proactively engaged in discussion. It was the most lovely night we’ve had in years and a new weekly tradition. Thank you.
My mom had dementia and OuiSi was a fun diversion. We worked in groups and made sets, told stories and simply interacted in positive ways. It was a relief for me, not to have to shoulder every visit. And the beauty of the cards held Mom’s attention.

A Christmas tradition for my family is to play scrabble, but after noticing some significant cognitive changes in my dad the last year, I picked up a set of OuiSi in the hopes that we could continue to play a game together without the pressure of spelling words correctly or complex rules. It ended up being such an equitable game for all of us! My husband at one point (in a desperate attempt to find SOME way to put down a card) made a connection that was less visual and more like making up a story, and it cracked open a whole new world of possibilities that my dad REALLY got into. It was so wonderful to see him joyfully adding to this silly made-up narrative. I’m looking forward to bringing the OuiSi cards out for future family gatherings 💜
We played on Christmas afternoon. This game is fantastic for everyone! We played with a wide range of ages, 11,4,46,71 and 75……a good time was had by all!
It’s challenging our ability to see visual similarities but use creative vocabulary to communicate! It’s different than any game we have!!
We were so excited to receive this from our wishlist. My spouse and I have enjoy all the different ways to interact with OuiSi.
To start, my family, aged 23 to 87, played 2 rounds of dominos. We really enjoyed hearing everyone's creativity in their selection of cards to play. The photographer in the group was very intrigued by the cards. The 30 somethings in the group, who play lots of role playing games, loved it too! Thanks for your creativity in this game.
We played with friends and then one friend suggested we take a picture with our phones and make a connection with our OuiSi board from things around the house. My 81 year old mother, who's always described herself as not creative, really got into the game. She was making such thoughtful connection comments and often found a way to tie in her card with "the essence of humanity". My sister and I were amazed!

We absolutely love this game! The kids ask to play it when they come to sleep over. We decided your next "deck" should be of Famous Landmarks from around the world. You could do an America version too. The Ousi info could be about the history of the landmark, where it is, stuff like that. No one in the family gets left out when Ouisi comes off the game shelf. I am an elementary librarian. I was looking for images to use to support students' visual thinking skills. These are amazing! I think link to the more information and we find out what the image is and where it was taken. I occasionally link to Google Earth so that we can find the location for a quick geography lesson!
Ouisi is a fun and inventive game to play with my 94 year old Mom. Maximum enjoyment without stress.
This was the card I turned over playing with my five year old granddaughter for the first time. I told her I saw 2 slices of bread and asked her what she saw. She said a smiley face and a rainbow! We're going to have so much fun with this!
I used the OuiSi Nature deck on Day One with my English Language Learners. It got them thinking and talking quickly. Students explained their sorting reasons. The QR codes helped us resolve some hypotheses and curiosity about some of photos. I look forward to reading further into the manual to find other ways to incorporate them into language acquisition activities.
I'd bought another game marketed for dementia patients that was based on open ended questions on cards. It didn't work for my dad with the Parkinson's dementia that seems to come with some aphasia. OuiSi worked great for us and got everyone talking. Some of the commonalities my dad found to justify grouping images were really abstract and *out there* but provided insights into how he's experiencing reality... And it was easy to keep up friendly banter & watch the cats and listen to music while playing because it's ... Not a lotta rules and structure. I don't normally leave reviews for products. But this one really facilitated some meaningful interaction with someone who's increasingly locked in his own brain. I'm sure those open ended word cards would work great for some folks - where this wouldn't... But I say try it. The images are quality; interesting photographs on decent cardstock... This is a pretty solid product.
Library patrons seem to love this, especially ones looking for non-competitive games. Everyone loves the QR codes on the backs of the Getty Museum cards. Thank you, OuiSi!
A fun game to play (without even needing real rules) with my mother, who has Alzheimers. Opens ideas for conversation and also something to do with the whole family of various ages and abilities.
Played with my 5 year old granddaughter. She has a very active imagination. Used the cards in the picture to describe herself.
Last Christmas we yurt-camped on the Washington (State) coast. The blustery weather didn’t matter when we had each other, craft chocolate to taste-test, and Ouisi to play. We tried the variation where one player looks at the cards and selects a few that match a theme they come up with. The others tried to guess which cards fit that theme and why. How entertaining to learn how others’ minds organize information, and what matters to them. We love games that build connections between people. The photography is top-notch, too. I’ve given the game to friends with young kids, a primary school teacher and an ESL teacher who was looking for engaging (and not condescending) games for her adult students. She was thrilled to receive Ouisi in the mail a few weeks after I’d mentioned it, hehe.
Played for the first time with my 60-74 year old siblings and spouses. They thought it was silly when I described it but really got into it. Lots of laughs and conversations.

I've enjoyed using playing games using the OuiSi set with my elderly mom, and teenagers. We've used it in a few different ways, and it's so open ended, we don't have to worry about remembering rules or how to play. It's great for sparking conversation and sharing with each other. The photos are beautiful quality, and some are quite imaginative!
At a senior community in Seattle, three of us played a free form style..pictured..and then the train and then the story. It was our first experience of the game, but wonderful for non compete folks and creative thinking. We ended up laughing with the stories we made up. Love this game, so many ways to play, but as an Educational Mindfulness Consultant this is a crowd favorite among students and teachers alike. Great way to promote mindfulness, laughter, connection and perspective taking!
As Director of Activities at an SNF facility with over 120 beds I can testify that this game is worth every penny. We’ve only played the game once but residents with a wide range of cognition were engaged, which is not easy to pull off. The photos are beautiful and i love hearing the reasoning behind the choices made. We are looking forward to making this game a regular part of our brain exercise programming. 5 stars. My grand boys, daughter and son-in-law who I bought the game for, love it and one of the reasons is because it can be played in so many different ways and the pictures are just visually stunning! This game brought together family members with different personality types who don’t always see eye to eye. Each of us said it was fun!

Delightful for all ages. Solo or otherwise. Interesting photography. I like the conversations that come up as a result of interacting with the cards.
I plan to use Ouisi in a fourth grade GT classroom as a language arts enrichment. Day 1 - select a card and journal using the suggestions on pg 29/30 of the guide - to use senses to describe the image Day 2 - in your journal draw - either complete the image or, draw the image as part of a larger unrelated image Day 3 - move about the classroom and find a “match” or connection with another student’s image. Share what you wrote and illustrated with each other. Day 4 - using the QR code on the back of the image- discover what the photograph actually is and read to discover facts and details about your image. Day 5 - conclude your journal by sharing something you learned about the image, sharing whether you knew exactly what it was or how surprised you were after using the QR The images are extraordinary, and I’m both pleased and hopeful this activity will be met with success. I appreciate that the guide offered a variety of educational options. I actually purchased it to play with my grandchildren in the near future.
